Surprise! Dynamite Adds ‘ThunderCats: Lynxana’ #1 To Tomorrow’s Blind Bag Release

Lynxana is on the loose!
Dynamite announced Tuesday a special surprise comic to be included with its new ThunderCats #1 — ThunderCats: Lynxana #1. It arrives via blind bags of the main series’ new #1 issue tomorrow.
Written by Nate Cosby with Sebastián Píriz on art, the bonus comic brings the comics-exclusive character into the modern ‘Cats continuity. Originally introduced by writer David Michelinie and artist Jim Mooney in Marvel Comics’ 1980s ThunderCats #4-6, she is an exiled ThunderCat turned bounty hunter of other ‘Cats. She never appeared on the original animated series and remained in the pages of those comics for decades. Now, she returns in both this spotlight issue and an appearance in ThunderCats #1.
Her story continues in 2027 when she appears again in the core title and makes her way into ThunderCats: Cheetara series by Saladin Ahmed and Andrea Arcari, but it all begins here with this unexpected blind bag item. And as an added incentive, Lynxana #1 also features an appearance from fan-favorite Silverhawks character Bluegrass.
“We snuck a Western into the ThunderCats universe,” Cosby said in a statement. “A distress call gets sent out from a shady planet that’s home to the roughest bounty hunters in all the galaxy. Bluegrass goes to answer the call, but gets shot down before he can even begin to investigate. What, and who, he finds on that planet, is gonna impact the ThunderCats comics franchise for years to come.”
In addition to the bonus comic — which will be included in every bag — collectors and readers can also receive Píriz’s cover art in black & white, without trade dress, and with a special ThunderCats logo. Some will also find ThunderCats new series writer Greg Pak‘s exclusive blind bag cover for ThunderCats #1.
Both issues arrive in shops tomorrow.
