Dynamite’s ‘MonsterVision’ Campaign Reveals Stretch Goals

by Erik Amaya

Joe Bob Briggs‘ domination of comics continues.

The horror host devised by actor John Bloom is beloved among horror-hounds for his wit, humor, and dare-we-say vision via his various horror movie shows on TNT and, in more recent times, Chiller. But with the latest iteration of the television series at its end, Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl have turned to comics with Dynamite’s MonsterVision. As previously reported, the series features the pair of horror hosts chart a “deep-fried, monster-hunting adventure filled with B-movie horror, endless Easter eggs, and a game-changing revelation that will turn their classic dynamic on its head.” The road trip will also include “parodies of classic horror films and a celebration of the life and career of Joe Bob Briggs and his own special mythos.” It comes courtesy of writer David Avallone and artist Edu Menna.

Although the series begins its run in December, it is also part of a Kickstarter campaign which is nearing $50,000. In advance of that threshold, Dynamite has announced a number of stretch goals to keep the momentum going. For instance, once the total passes $50K, “every fan’s haul will additionally include a MonsterVision bookmark. It’ll be a great way to keep track of your progress while reading through the new horror comedy adventure. This sweet extra featuring artwork from the new comics will be available for free when the goal is met.”

And when the campaign passes $66,666, every the haul will also include a exclusive trading card featuring Joe Bob at no additional cost.

Those interested in securing a copy of the comic and the Kickstarter exclusives should head over to the campaign page for more information. MonsterVision debuts this December.
