Tom Baker Wishes Everyone A Happy Doctor Who Day

While it is Thanksgiving in the US, the 23rd of November has a special significance to fans of Doctor Who. The first episode debuted at quarter-past-six on this day back in 1963. Of course, the debut was overshadowed by news of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and so few actually watched the show that Saturday evening. But producer Verity Lambert pushed for the first episode to be rebroadcast the next week. A few episodes later, the Daleks made their first appearance and a legend was born.
To celebrate the occasion of the program’s 54th anniversary, the official Doctor Who Twitter account posted this video of Fourth Doctor Tom Baker wishing fans a happy Doctor Who Day. Of course, he still made it about himself — but would you want Tom to talk about anyone but himself?
