Netflix Finally Confirms Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Title

by Erik Amaya

Netflix has finally ruled on the name of their upcoming Sabrina the Teenage Witch series. It will be called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, according to creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The title is the same as his Archie Comics series which inspired the show and has been used by the production all along.

This may seem like a technicality, but the streaming platform was insisting that the project was untitled for months. Even as filming began and the cast was announced, the company and the press continued to refer to the show as the Untitled Sabrina series; suggesting Netflix wanted a less pulpy moniker.
Like the comic book, the show re-imagines Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and the town of Greendale in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and Hammer horror films instead of the sitcom setting of the previous Sabrina television series. Ross Lynch will also star as Sabrina’s potential love interest Harvey Krinkle, with Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis as Sabrina’s aunts Zelda and Hilda, Doctor Who‘s Michelle Gomez, as Sabrina’s mentor Mary Wardell, Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s British cousin Ambrose, Tati Gabrielle as rival Prudence, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s best friend Rosalind Walker and Bronson Pinchot as nefarious Baxter High principle George Hawthorne.
The series will debut either late this year or early in 2019.
