Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Trailer Introduces More Spectacular Spider-People
by Erik Amaya
Sony has released a second trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and it manages to be even more charming than the first. But this time around, they’re not playing coy about the alternate worlds as Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) meets Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) and a few other alternate Spider-people like the infamous Spider-Ham (John Mulaney).
It also appears that the film will have fun with Spider-Man’s cinematic mythology, what with the direct quotes of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, and some deep pull from comic book lore with Spider-Ham, Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn) and Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage) making their screen debuts. And though there were always comedic elements to Sony’s Spider-Man films, this one feels particularly light-hearted; which is a nice change of pace. It also looks brilliant with an animation style all its own. This might be the superhero movie to beat this winter.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse opens on December 14th.
