DC Comics Spotlights Zoom & Ink Imprints At ALA Midwinter 2019
by Gary Catig

ALA Midwinter 2019 is a celebration of all things books and attracts librarians, creators and publishers alike. We already know there will be a significant comics presence at the show with both Boom! Studios and Diamond attending. Now add DC Comics to the list of companies that will be exhibiting in Seattle in less than a week.
DC’s campaign, “Be a Hero, Read a Book” promotes graphic novels across libraries and schools by providing librarians with DC Super Hero-themed materials, resources and activities. Attending an ALA show is a good opportunity for them to interact with librarians and educators to push their initiative. This year, they are spotlighting their new DC Zoom (middle grade) and DC Ink (YA) imprints to encourage kids to read graphic novels.
They can be found at Booth # 720 where they will have giveaways and a raffle for a DC Comics gift basket containing a Batman Mug, t-shirt, Wonder Woman planner and more. In addition, there will be author signings.
