The mysterious cult leader finally has a face.
Variety reports Agent Carter‘s Chad Michael Murray will play Edgar Evernever in upcoming episodes of The CW’s Riverdale. The character, who has been teased throughout the show’s third season, is the leader of The Farm; a commune Polly Cooper (Tiera Skovbye) and Jason Blossom planned to run away to shortly before his murder. Polly eventually made her way there and soon initiated her mother Alice (Madchen Amick) in its ways despite Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) fears that it was a cult.
And as more details emerge about the Farm and its society, Betty’s suspicions seem to be correct. But the Farm has made inroads into Riverdale besides the Coopers. Evernever’s daughter Evelyn (Zoe De Grand Masison) enrolled at Riverdale High in the Fall and began a Farm-related club for students.
Once he arrives in town, Murray’s Evernever is said to be a “charming and handsome guru” who offers to “heal the ravaged soul of the once-wholesome town.” But his benevolence may mask a more sinister motive — as often happens in the Town With Pep.
Riverdale returns February 27th on The CW.
