Red Daughter Joins Lex Luthor In A Preview Of Next Week’s Supergirl

Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) got what he wanted and now it’s time to go toe-to-toe with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). But as this preview for next week’s show indicates, he has a plan to match her strength by utilizing the long-teased Red Daughter (also Benoist). Will the two destroy each other, allowing Lex to get one over on his enemies?
Meanwhile, Cryer’s introduction as Lex was one of the best episodes of the season. He played him as both a very smart guy and a very base dude. It was also great to hear him shout “Miss Teschmacher!” and be reunited with Otis (Robert Baker). It will be interesting to see how his story plays out and whether or not he’ll dispense with Lockwood (Sam Witwer) now that he’s out and healed. Next week will also include flashbacks to his plans over the past two years, so one assumes we’ll discover his involvement in the Sons of Liberty.
But J’onn’s (David Harewood) story has also become quite interesting. While killing Manchester Black (David Ajala) was not the big moment it should’ve been, the repercussions definitely will be as J’onn continues to reconcile his feelings. Hopefully, he will be able to restore his balance before too long. Also, we hope these storylines continue to coalesce into something truly satisfying.
