We’ve waited a long time for Sue Dearbon to make her way to The Flash, but she’s finally been cast!
TVLine reports The Originals’ Natalie Dreyfuss will play Sue, the better half of Elongated Man Ralph Dibney in various DC Comics stories. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, she was originally a debutante whose ball Ralph crashed while supposedly chasing a jewel thief. The pair were quickly married with Sue joining Ralph in his investigations — a superhero version of Nick and Nora Charles who bounced around just about every DC Comics title.
On The Flash, Sue has been the focus of a missing persons case Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) has been unable to crack. But as showrunner Eric Wallace told us back in October, Sue will make her in-the-flesh appearance during second half of the show’s sixth season. TVLine describes the character as “possessing a fierce intelligence and a spitfire personality, Sue Dearbon is the daughter to one of Central City’s most wealthy families.” Is it possible Sue and Ralph will get their own spinoff? Wallace teased such a thing is possible, but then again, everything is possible in the DC Universe. For the moment though, Dreyfuss will recur on The Flash.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
