Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the crossover my childhood always wanted is proving to be quite a success. Who knew mashing up two gigantic pop culture franchises would prove so popular? BOOM! Studios, under license by Hasbro and in partnership with IDW Publishing and Nickelodean, has announced the first two issues of the comic book crossover have sold out at the distributor level. Your local comic shop might still have some copies, but there are no more out there to be ordered. Don’t worry though. Second printings of both are on the way.
Filip Sablik, President, Sales and Marketing, BOOM! Studios says:
Seeing the Power Rangers meet the Ninja Turtles for the first time is one of the most exciting pop culture events of the year so we want to make sure everyone has a chance to get their copy. The anticipation for this event has been thrilling and with several new covers, including a couple featuring Shredder, and a brand new black and white edition of the issue itself, fans everywhere will have the chance to celebrate this historic series from the very start. And it’s only getting bigger from here!
There will be three new covers for MMPR / TMNT #1’s 2nd printing, one by Dan Mora and two by Goñi Montes, all coming on February 5th, 2020. This is in addition to the special black and white edition due out on January 29th, 2020.
MMPR / TMNT #2’s second printing will also be available on February 5th, 2020 and will feature a new cover by Goñi Montes.
The action and excitement continues to build as Shredder enters the scene and proceeds to blow up everyone’s plans with his own surprise—he’s gotten hold of a power that’ll change the playing field entirely. For everyone who thought the first issue started with a bang, we’re upping the stakes in a big way with this issue. Don’t miss this special fast-tracked second printing and find out what happens when you’ve got two teams of butt-kicking teens up against a whole clan of ninjas and their merciless leaders!
