Power Rangers: Unlimited Power Era Kicks Off In ‘Mighty Morphin’ This November

After “Necessary Evil” wrapped up, I had to wonder where BOOM! Studios would take the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. The answer, is “Unlimited Power” consisting of two new series with two all-new teams. The action begins in November with Mighty Morphin #1, a new series from writer Ryan Parrott and artist Marco Renna.

The series follows a new Mighty Morphin team that includes an All New Green Ranger. They came together to face an even deadlier Lord Zedd, emboldened with a new mission and a new motivation that will change everything you thought you knew about these heroes. If the team can find a way to survive Zedd and their mysterious new enemies, that might not be enough to survive the greatest threat to their future discovered in the shocking secret of Zordon’s past.
Writer Ryan Parrott says:

This is a brand new beginning for an all-new Mighty Morphin team featuring characters you know – and an all new Green Ranger. This book is a chance to explore the past, present and future of the team in ways you’ve never seen before. Coming out of Necessary Evil, there seemed like an opportunity to not only start fresh but focus the story in on our new Mighty Morphin team like we haven’t before.

Speculation can begin as to the identity of the new Green Ranger. From the way I see it, there are two options: The newly returned Lord Drakkon (which would be an interesting twist with a path to redemption for this heinous villain) or Kimberly’s ex-boyfriend Matt, who is still in the mix as a supporting character. Judging from the design of the helmet, I’m leaning more towards the former, than the latter, but that could be too obvious.
Artist Marco Renna added:
