‘No Time To Die’ Delayed Again

Daniel Craig‘s last mission as James Bond has hit another snag.
Variety reports the film has once again been pulled from its release date. Earlier this year, MGM and Universal decided to delay the film just as the Asian film market saw the effects of COVID-19 on its bottom line. Soon after, it set a new date for November 12th in UK and November 20th in the US. But with no vaccine or effective treatment in sight, the studio has decided to hold the film back until the new year.
The move is not the least bit surprising with many movie theaters in the US still shut down, those that are open operating at a limited capacity, and an unforgiving group of investors who would balk at any reason for a $200 million 007 picture to make anything less than a record gross. And once Warner Bros. moved Wonder Woman 1984 to December and Disney re-positioned Black Widow into 2021, it was only a matter of time before MGM, Universal, and Bond production company EON Productions would follow suit.
But with all of 2020’s tentpole releases vacating November, it remains to be seen if any of the December release dates will remain firm. We’ve been expecting Dune to move for some time and, it seems, that will be the next inevitable change.
No Time To Die is now slated for release on April 2nd, 2021.
