‘Hellboy Web Of Wyrd’ Video Game Coming To Consoles and PCs

A new Hellboy game that aims to capture the unique look of Mike Mignola’s comic book artwork is coming to all major platforms as well as PCs.

Action-adventure game Hellboy Web of Wyrd features an original storyline crafted in collaboration with Mignola, also designed the program’s key art. Actor Lance Reddick voices Hellboy.

“Adapting the Hellboy comics to a game is a dream project for all of us,” said Amanda Kruse, publishing director at video game publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment. “The opportunity to create something authentic — that’s something we take very seriously. Our partnership with Mike Mignola and the creative team at Dark Horse has been inspiring.”

The story picks up after a B.P.R.D. agent vanishes inside the mysterious Butterfly House. That mansion is a gateway to the Wyrd, a vast, interdimensional web of wondrous and horrifying planes of existence. It’s up to Hellboy and his team of agents to uncover its forbidden secrets.

The game gives players the opportunity to step into Hellboy’s hooves to unleash melee and ranged attacks in challenging combat against a nightmarish menagerie of otherworldly monsters. The gameplay promises an authentic comic book look and feel.

Upstream Arcade is developing the game, which is available to add to a wish list on Steam – through no release date has been announced.
