A New ‘Corporation’ Rises In The Cyber-Jungle: TTRPG Preview

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

Sometimes, really unique games come across my desk, and I always think back to when I was first branching out from D&D and RIFTS to other systems, and how much fun it was to test new systems and stretch new role-playing muscles over long weekends in the back of a mold-infested comic shop or someone’s parent’s barn loft.

Corporation, from Nightfall Games, gives me those vibes of childhood experimentation in the TTRPG space. Set in the dystopian future of 2500 AD, where the world is ruled by all-powerful Corporations, the line between cybernetic and actual psychic powers gets a little blurry. It gives me vibes similar to Mike Pondsmith‘s Cyberpunk, and that’s totally okay, because I know I like that flavor of that TTRPG, so these may just be more tasty pages to add to the gaming shelf.

Originally launched in 2009, Corporation has become a Platinum Seller on DrivethruRPG, and Nightfall Games, in partnership with James Norbury, are currently gearing up to bring the game’s first edition titles to their DrivethruRPG account. With Norbury playing an integral role in the process, fans of the original game can expect big things as the second edition of the game launches.

The world of Corporation is detailed and can be really immersive to those who love a romp through futuristic cities and cramped neon-lit urban jungles. The game’s setting is dark and gritty, where mega-corporations have taken over the world and ruthlessly pursue their own interests, leaving people to work for them or die in poverty. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the table, this game looks to be an exciting journey into a future where the rich get richer, plasma pistols are your best friends, and Agents decide the fates of world powers with the flick of a wrist or a roll of the dice.

Until next time, I will keep you updated on this and other TTRPG news as it comes across my desk.
