Review (NSFW): ‘Money Shots Comes Again’ #1 Stands Up (Without Any Blue Pills)

Trigger Warning: Talk of nudity and sideboob

My parents were friends with these people who had an absolute jerk for a kid. I mean, to be 100% that could be said about a lot of the people my parents hung around. This kid in particular was one of those kids who got whatever they wanted all the time and made it a point to lord it over other people.

At some point between busting me in the face with a punching bag, and then locking me in a room so I could not get to the bathroom while I bleed all over my clothes, and breaking my G.I. Joes, the kid would often show off a vampire-themed comic where in one single panel, there was a bit of sideboob. Now, at the ripe old age of maybe 12, I could care less about nudity of any kind, what I really wanted to see was the vampire story. The book had an embossed cover with a crimson coffin and a very 90s Valiant vibe to it.

I never got to see the comic other than the page with the sideboob, because this kid and his friends ran off into some attic space that I could not follow them into, due to my crutches. I was left to sit alone in his room while they threw things at me from a crawlspace door. I really hated being around those people. Anyways, nudity in comics always conjures that memory for me because I recall how strongly I was put off by it. Here is this perfectly good story about the living dead and they are winging in some naked person with exaggerated features that, again, to a child served zero purpose.

This would be far from the last time I came across nudity in comics. Over the years sometimes it worked but every time it was a random page turn and boom, some naked person being naked while standing or sitting in a totally unnatural way holding a gun or hacking a computer or something just off the wall I think back on that weird vampire comic and the sideboob and chuckle at how far life has taken me away from those places.

NOW! If you want to talk about a comic where nudity makes sense and is handled in a way that is enjoyable and works with the story and is not just some weird sideboob lady in some graveyard somewhere… let me tell you about Vault Comics’ Money Shot Comes Again #1.

Following the XXX-plorers as they return from their romp around the galaxy enjoying the company of each other and all manner of alien species and devices, the team is enjoying some much-needed and often R-rated R&R when the giant space jellyfish who run the ordered universe show up on Earth and act like absolute jerks to our hedonistic heroes and the population of the planet in general.

Our freaky friends find themselves thrust into yet another predicament. A space race billionaire has found his way to a planet teaming with simple life, and through the evil of capitalism, said billionaire has established some of the most horrible nonsense the universe has ever seen.

Money Shots is one of those books that is drawn well, has a ton of sex jokes, and is super pointed with its social commentary. It does all of those things in the best way possible and is really really enjoyable. I mean that. There are some really sweet “Awwwww, how cute” moments in this book.

If you are not shy and can deal with satirical softcore with a hard edge then Money Shots Comes Again #1 is going to leave you satisfied and hungry for more.
