by Sage Ashford
The return of the cult classic Baten Kaitos series with Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster was announced earlier this year. Now, Bandai-Namco finally has a release date for fans of this cult classic series: September 15th.
In Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, players take on the role of Kalas, as he goes on a quest for revenge against the Alfard Empire for his lost family. Baten Kaitos Origins is a prequel that takes place twenty years earlier with a different protagonist, Sagi. After being framed, Sagi is forced to go on his own journey that sees him learning the truth behind the Alfard Empire.
In addition to showing off the remastered HD visuals, the new trailer discusses a number of updated features. Players will have the ability to skip cutscenes or hit enemies with “Instant KO” to get through battles in a single hit. Those who don’t want to deal with encounters at all will be able to cut off encounters entirely, or simply cut on auto-battle. Meanwhile, players who want to finish this as quickly as possible will be able to speed up both game and battle speed by 300%.
Once trapped on the Nintendo GameCube, both these cult classic RPGs will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch this fall.
