Preview: ‘Battle Action’ #2 — More Classic War Tales From The Best Of Brit War Comics Brought Back To Life

Battle Action was a classic thing, something cherished by so many UK comic readers. And now that Rebellion/2000 AD have the rights to all these old characters, they’re doing all they can to bring the thrills of the past back to us today.

The first Battle Action Special had Ennis writing the lot in a hardback collection, but now we have a six-issue series where Ennis writes the first tale and others take the second – and it’s something that worked so well for the first issue.

Now, issue two, with Ennis taking on Crazy Keller with Chris Burnham on art and then Dan Abnett and Phil Winslade – who know each other very well through their collab on the Judge Dredd Megazine‘s Lawless – taking on D-Day Dawson.

Two classic old war comics, two great creative teams, two excellent tales to bring back memories of comics past and forge new memories that show us that war comics are still, are always, a fine way to show off the best of the medium.

Battle Action #2 is out on 28th July from anywhere you get your good comics from.
