SDCC 2023: The Comic-Con Museum Kicks Off The Big Week With Three New Exhibits

Comic-Con International: San Diego, the company behind San Diego Comic-Con began their big week with a number of new exhibits at their Comic-Con Museum. As previously announced, the exhibits featured the legendary Stan Lee and the anime series Cowboy Bebop and My Hero Academia.

“Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee” and many interesting items and displays. There were a number of tribute murals, original art from his comics, and so much more. It was very informative look at the man with some surprising stories. There was an entire section dedicated to when Stan Lee reimagined characters from DC comics with the help of several different comic artists.

“Cowboy Bebop 25th Anniversary Art Exhibition” is a gallery of commissioned art that captured the essence of the popular series. It was fun to see the different interpretations of the characters, settings and themes from the various artists.

The “My Hero Academia Installation” is an impressive statue depicting the “Historical Battle in Kamino” from My Hero Academia. The characters All Might and All For One are shown in heated combat.

In addition to the latest additions, the Comic-Con Museum has other great exhibits. The headlining “The Animation Academy – from Pencils to Pixels” is a delightful romp through the history of animation. It contains the original art featuring beloved characters from the classics to today. The exhibit is interactive with several hands-on experiences to provide behind the scenes looks on how “the sausage is made.”
