Another month, another set of indictments head Trump’s way. This time he’s facing federal charges for attempting to overturn the result of the 2020 election. And he seems to have met his match in a Judge that’s not having any of his crap.
It all culminated in the mugshots of Trump and his fellow arrestees in Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. Another historic first for Trump.
Frankly, it’s the thing that’s consumed most of the US political cartoonists this month. I could have put three times the amount of cartoons up than I have…
But the orange one’s still running for Prez in ’24…

Not welcome to Britain – the immigration debacle continues…
We’re now seeing a government reacting to the right wing elements of their party and the electorate and bringing in ever crueler policies to stop immigration. This was a month where the Conservative government of Rishi Sunak and, in Suella Braverman, the cruelest Home Secretary ever (and that’s coming after Priti Patel, which is really saying something) unveil the new policy of putting migrants on a barge instead of in hotel rooms. The same barge that was subsequently evacuated when they found Legionella bacteria in the water supply.
The Conservative Deputy Chairman, Lee Anderson’s comment on it all – people seeking asylum should, “Fuck off back to France if they didn’t like being housed on the Bibby Stockholm barge.”
It’s just a cruel, nasty farce.

The cost of living crisis gets deeper and deeper…
Interest rates keep going up, mortgages go up, food prices go up, and normal people get poorer and poorer and poorer. And those in charge? Well, the millionaire political class seem to have no cares.

Meanwhile… back in the trough…
Politicians are a different breed aren’t they? No spine, no shame, no ethics, nothing but their own greed and vanity to support them. And right now we have some of the worst – well, some of the worst since the last lot anyway. Sunak’s government and those in power really have just dropped the pretence that that doing it for anyone but themselves.
This was a month where Sunak was said to have ‘inadvertently’ broken MPs’ code of conduct over his wife’s childcare interest, a childcare interest that benefited from changes made in this year’s budget.
And the new Covid vaccines – well, they’re available privately now, which we’re all sure is lining the pockets of various politicians.
And then the world gasped in surprise… or not – the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin
In one of the least surprising things to happen this month, the Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has been confirmed dead after a plane crash near Moscow on 25th August, killing all on board.
The Kremlin has denied speculation it was to blame for the crash.
The world, as one, went… “Yeah, right.”
Of course, it could be a complete coincidence that Progozhin is the latest Putin opponent to meet an early end, just two months after Prigozhin led a Wagner mutiny against Russian armed forces, seizing the southern city of Rostov and threatening to march on Moscow.
