Talking With C.R.C. Payne About ‘Batman: Wayne Family Adventures’

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

Few things in this world matter more to me than positive and powerful representation. When that collides so beautifully with the world of Batman, I’m hard-pressed not to become a big bag of mush who delights at the results.

When I tell you that my love for WEBTOON’s Batman: Wayne Family Adventures is vast, I mean it in the way that the ocean is vast compared to a thimble full of water. The team does such a wonderful job of showing these quiet and honest moments packed with emotion and love, real honest found family love, that my often guarded little heart gets overwhelmed from time to time with how much of an impact they have. WEBTOON does such a great job of elevating the voices of storytellers who are able to tell diverse and rich stories in a format that reaches global audiences and my hope is that more and more long-time physical comic readers continue to find their way to the site and see what is going on over there because there are some truly amazing things happening in the world of comics and it’s just a click away.

For now, please check out this heartfelt conversation with the wildly talented C.R.C. Payne about her team, Batman: Wayne Family Adventure, and how cool representation is in comics.

Until next time, representation matters. Every time. It’s one of the most powerful things in storytelling and it will always be important. Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other, see you next time at the table.
