Kickstarting Comics: ‘Shokwave Book 3’ — More Classic Anthology Tales From Kult Creations

by Richard Bruton

Another great Kickstarter to get behind now, with Shokwave Book 3 featuring four good looking tales in a cool anthology…

(Regular cover of SHOKWAVE BOOK 3 by Richard Pester!)

We’re up to Book 3 of Shokwave, the anthology from John A. Short’s Kult Creations publisher. Inside the latest, there’s four continuing tales, all written by Short and featuring art from Chris Askham, Richard Pester, David Hitchcock, and Adam Jakes.

Of course, walking in late to a party is never fun – which is why the first two books are still available in print and digital in this Kickstarter and from Kult Creations – physical copies from shokwavecomic.blogspot.com and digital copies from kultdigital.blogspot.com

Two covers are available, both featuring Shokwave’s alien star – Anna Key, with the regular cover by Resistors artist Richard Pester, while the Kickstarter exclusive cover is by Anna Key artist Chris Askham.

The Kickstarter for Shokwave Book 3 runs until 24 September.

The four tales inside Shokwave cover a wide variety and diversity of genres and styles, just as any good anthology does. Here’s a quick look at them…

NOSFERATU II – illustrated by David Hitchcock.

The sequel to the legendary 1922 silent horror movie! This issue we meet THE CULT OF ORLOK, who plan to bring the vampire back from the dead!

(David Hitchcock’s art for Nosferatu II)

THE CLOCK STRIKES! – illustrated by Adam Jakes.

The return of comic books’ original masked hero – The Clock. This issue the deadly, faceless vigilante calls on the help of femme fatal, Trixy Malone, for a high-stakes pulp/hard-boiled/film noir adventure.

There’s also the chance to get the Vincent Danks illustrated Clock single issue as an add-on.

ANNA KEY – illustrated by Chris Askham

Chaotic alien cop/criminal Anna is the last person you’d rely on in a crisis… so this issue she finds herself trying to talk a leaper down from a high ledge! What could possibly go wrong?

(Chris Askham’s art from Anna Key)

RESISTORS – illustrated by Richard Pester.

Rebel sex-robot Jez gets right to the heart of the conspiracy against the sythidroids in this issue… and discover the future of big game hunting!

Rewards are plentiful for this one, including custom A5 sketches by Chris Askham and Kult Creations artist Gabrielle Noble, original artwork by David Hitchcock from Nosferatu II, and Adam Jakes’ original art from The Clock Strikes, plus the original A3 art by Chris Askham to the Kickstarter exclusive cover of Shokwave Book 3.
