‘Spider-Punk’ Returns For An Encore This February
by Tony Thornley
He was one of the most unexpected stars of the Spider-Verse crossover. He became a cult favorite in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. And his first titular limited series was a huge hit. Naturally that means Marvel’s most punk Spider-hero is due for an encore, and it’s coming February with Spider-Punk!
Reuniting the original creative team of Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason, Spider-Punk finds Hobie Brown and his motley band in a world without Norman Osborn. In his place though, Justin Hammer and Doctor Otto Octavius have risen. Now Punk and his band will have to face the biggest threat yet- the Spider-Slaying Sentinels!

On writing the series, Ziglar told IGN, “It feels so friggin’ cool to dive back into Earth-138 with Justin and explore the world of Hobie and the Spider-band even more! There’s some new additions to the Spider-Punk roster, some real dope villains, and some other cool stuff I don’t wanna spoil… but absolutely cannot wait for folks! And yes, there’ll 100% be a Spider-Punk Playlist Vol 2!”
Our own Scott Redmond enjoyed the first series quite a bit. He said “‘Spider-Punk’ gives the Spider-Verse fan-favorite character his very own series which allows his punk-style Earth to get the real fleshed-out comic book treatment. This series is a visual and emotional feast that perfectly blends superheroes and real-world issues into a powerful fun mix that packs quite the proverbial punch. “
