Actor Taylor Trensch Joins Off-Broadway’s ‘Dracula, A Comedy Of Terrors’

by Tom Smithyman

Broadway actor Taylor Trensch is joining the Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors company for only one week. Trensch, whom New York audiences know well from his performances in Camelot, To Kill a Mockingbird, Dear Evan Hansen, and Wicked will play Harker and others from December 27, 2023, to January 2, 2024.

Trensch joins fellow actors Jordan Boatman, Arnie Burton, James Daly, Ellen Harvey, and Andrew Keenan-Bolger in the blood-sucking Off-Broadway comedy basely loosely on the Bram Stoker novel. The 90-minute romp features a pansexual GenZ Count Dracula in the midst of an existential crisis. The count sets his sights on scientist Lucy Westfeldt but soon realizes he has met his match.

“In re-reading Dracula, we were surprised and intrigued by the boldness with which Stoker, a closeted gay man in Victorian England, plays with sexuality and gender norms,” says director/co-writer Gordon Greenberg. “We are so fortunate to have assembled an extraordinary company of top-notch comedic actors whose fearlessness and hilarity make the whole experience feel like a party.”

Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors runs through January 7, 2024, in New World Stages, 340 West 50th Street, New York.
