Vault Comics And Buckledown Brewing Team Up For ‘Barbaric Red Blood Ale’

by Olly MacNamee

Seems comics and booze is still a big thing and Vault Comics are the latest comic book company to team up to produce their own ale. They’ve teamed up with Buckledown Brewing to produce a Pale Ale tying in with Michael Moreci and Nathan Gooden’s Barbaric. Called Barbaric Blood Red Ale, it debuts exclusively at Chicagoland Binny’s Beverage Depot as a 4-pack and at Buckledown’s very own taproom on draft. Buckledown Brewing and Barbaric writer and co-creator Michael Moreci will host a launch event for the beer at the brewery’s Lyons, IL tasting room location at 4:30pm on launch day. Plus, Moreci will be on hand to mingle and to sign comics for anyone interested.

Speaking on behalf of Buckledown Brewing’s, Joe Jung said of the ale’s taste:

“This red ale starts off with authentic Pale Ale malt for a bready backbone, complemented by the robust spiciness of rye malt. Chinook hops lend a subtle hint of pine aromatics, balancing this malty brew!”

As you’re no doubt a comic book fan if you’re reading this on our site, I won’t tell you more about vault Comics, but I will leave you with more details on Buckledown Brewing, a family run brewery:

“BuckleDown Brewing is the founding brewery of the near-western Chicago suburbs.  Operated with care and passion by Michelle and Ike Orcutt – we’ve been making great beer and great memories since 2013!

From hoppy IPAs to clean-drinking lagers, we put an emphasis on consistently flavorful beers brewed with dedication and skill.

Our hand-built taproom is open 7-days a week and is the best place to experience what BuckleDown is all about. Our amazing staff will take great care of you…and if you happen to visit on a Saturday afternoon, you’ll probably get to meet the whole Orcutt family.”
