Mark Russell And Mike Allred Team Up For ‘Batman: Dark Age’

Mark Russell and Mike Allred have once again teamed up after their runaway hit Superman: Space Age for a retelling of the Batman origin, but contextualised against real-life world events. And judging by the title of this one, can a third series (Wonder Woman, I… erm, wonder?) be too far behind? Hell, even the cover to the first issue mimics the cover of the aforementioned Superman series’ debut issue. I mean, what other clues do you need that they’re cooking up a terrific trilogy of titanic tales!

Coming in March 2024 from DC Comics, Batman: Dark Age, is described as “an origin story like no other” with their Batman positioned “as a figure in American history fighting for justice in a world gone mad.” and seemingly directly linked to the Batman who appeared in Superman: Space Age. Again, I can’t help but think this will be part of a larger body of work these guys are cooking up.

Batman: Dark Age #1 will be out on Tuesday 26th March from DC Comics.
