Obsidian Entertainment’s ‘Avowed’ Shows Off Combat System, Which Lets You Dual Wield Wands

After years of waiting, Obsidian Entertainment is finally ready to welcome players to the Living Lands with the release of their first-person action RPG, Avowed. Though they’ve shown the game off before, during the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 they were able to give players a deep dive on the game’s environments, combat, and choice-based narrative.
The main focus here though was the combat, where they showed off the variety of different weapons available to players. Of course there’s the traditional hand-to-hand weaponry, but there’s also a deep magical system. With the ability to dual wield wands, players will be able to mix and match a variety of spells to take out enemies how they like. And while dual wielding wands makes less sense the more one thinks about it, it certainly looks cool.
Avowed launches this Fall on Xbox Series, Steam, Xbox Game Pass, and the Microsoft Store.
