Kickstarting Comics (But You’d Better Be Quick) — The Final Book Of Alan Henderson’s ‘Penned Guin’

Another Kickstarter for you to have a look at: the quite wonderfully silly Penned Guin strips of Alan Henderson. It’s time for The Bell to toll.

Alan Henderson’s been making these strips about penguins and life and so much more for 12 years and 2500+ daily strips now. Yes, daily! It’s quite an achievement and it’s one that he’s ending soon, with this as the very last Kickstarter for the collections. As he explains in this thread, he’s rightly proud of what he’s done but it’s just the right time to finish it. And he should be proud, it’s a strip that’s entertained me greatly since I first saw it.

So… you know the drill. Check out his Twitter (you know, I just cannot bring myself to call it X still) and head to the Kickstarter to back it. But be aware, this isn’t one to hang around on, there’s just 5 days to go at the time I’m writing this. [But Richard, you say, shouldn’t you have told us about this before. Anyway, the Kickstarter is for the latest and final collection of the daily strip, appearing through 2023 and into 2024.

It features all the silly penguin gags us who’ve read it already know about, family-friendly stuff, over 170 of the daily strips, 100 pages in an A5 landscape book.

Plenty of tiers and add-ons, including one where you can commission your very own Penned Guin piece.
