SXSW 2024: See The Post-Apocalyptic World Outside The Vault In Prime Video’s ‘Fallout’ Activation

South by Southwest (SXSW) is soon approaching bringing attendees a fun experience related to films, television, music and more. There will be plenty of activations as well featuring some hot properties. Last year, Prime Video set up shop in the Hotel San José to host Prime, Texas. This year they will be in the same location spotlighting Fallout, their upcoming series based on the popular video game.
The hotel’s parking lot will be converted into the shanty-town of Filly, transporting guests to the post-apocalyptic world of the show. Enter via a sewer tunnel and learn about life outside the iconic fallout bunkers known as Vaults.
The activation looks to be very immersive with locals throughout guiding you to collect bottle caps, the town’s currency of choice. You can also utilize the ‘Vault 33 Resident Portal (Va.R.P.)’ to go on scavenger quests to find pre-war artifacts and other interactive opportunities to earn more bottle caps.
You can even take some time to grab a bite whether it’s Fancy Lad Snack Cakes or ass jerky. Some of the activities include lassoing the (sort-of) taxidermied wasteland creatures and testing your marksmanship with ‘Junk Jets’ in the shooting gallery. There are photo opportunities as well such as in the futuristic, yet post-apocalyptic dentist’s chair (where guests will notice that the doctor might like teeth just a little too much), with the power armor or even in front of the feral ghoul cage. All fun call backs for fans of Fallout. If you’re lucky, you might even see the town’s rival factions fight over the fate of a rumored vault dweller.
Prime Video’s Fallout activation will be held on March 8 from 12PM to 6PM and March 9 from 10AM to 6PM in the Hotel San José parking lot.
