‘I Saw The TV Glow’– Creates Nostalgic Horror
by Tito W. James
I Saw The TV Glow is a nostalgic horror drama from writer/director Jane Schoenbrun. The film follows two young people, played by Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine, who investigate an obscure children’s show with terrifying results.
This film taps into a very specific subculture and is coming out at just the right time. There’s a fascination with finding niche kids media that was unintentionally frightening. There’s a lot of lore that centers around lost media that was too scary to watch and would drive the viewer insane if they found it. Those familiar with Candle Cove, Cry Baby Lane, and Gooey Gus from Ghostwriter will resonate with I Saw The TV Glow.
I Saw The TV Glow will be in theaters May 3.
