The Avengers Stand On The Front Line In Dell’Otto’s ‘Blood Hunt’ Connecting Variants
by Tony Thornley
While the entire Marvel Universe will be fighting the vampire invasion, the Avengers are the universe’s first line of defense. In the newly revealed Blood Hunt connecting variants, we see that war right up front and personal.
Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz’s event story continues to shape up to be a different sort of event. The horror/action themes are something we don’t see very often. Superstar artist Gabriele Dell’Otto will help bring that to lift with a connecting series of covers for the series.

“I knew going in that vampires weren’t bad enough. If the children of the night were going up against the Avengers, let alone the other heroes of the world, bigger guns were required,” MacKay explained. “Hence the Bloodcoven—supervampires, fed on the blood of superhumans that follow different vampiric philosophies, subsisting not only on blood but pain, or magic, or thoughts, or even ghosts! I threw together a list of names and some thoughts about powers, but it was Pepe who really brought these characters to (un)life, creating an extremely gnarly set of predators!”
