Marvel Celebrates 20 Years Of Skottie Young With New Covers, Posters & More

There are many artists who are synonymous with Marvel Comics. Few have had as big an impact in the last twenty years than Skottie Young and in June, Marvel celebrates his impact in a big way.
It’s been twenty years since Young came to work for Marvel and a decade since he began his trademark Little Marvel variant covers. Few big Marvel releases hit the stands without a Young Little Marvel cover. Since then, these images have been used in all different kinds of merchandise. I personally have a Spider-Man/Venom T-shirt, multiple enamel pins and a lanyard featuring Young’s little Marvel artwork.
In the month of June, Young and Marvel will celebrate this milestone with a whopping 27 new variant covers across about half of Marvel’s publishing line. These covers will depict classic characters and new favorites, ranging from Captain America to Spider-Boy. Best of all, they’ll be collected onto one massive poster, creating a totally new piece depicting Young’s takes on the modern Marvel Universe. To go with it, Young’s Infinity Comics Giant-Size Little Marvels comes to print for the first time in an oversized one-shot.
“It’s hard to believe that we’re celebrating 10 years of my Young Variants,” Young said. “It’s easier to believe that we’re celebrating 10 years of my covers on the 12th year of me doing them. I mean, it’s Marvel Comics. Everyone’s crazy busy and it’s hard to keep track of every anniversary. And hey, we love playing fast in loose with numbering of things, right? Joking aside, it’s a been such a fun twelve years of getting to make people smile and laugh with my take on the Marvel Universe. Here’s to ten-ish or twelve-ish more!”
