The famous Jim Steranko Nick Fury cover from 1968 wasn’t the first comic to be inspired by Salvador Dali‘s The Persistence of Memory from 1931. Thanks to this post at The Bristol Board, there’s also this 1948 Star Spangled Comics Robin cover by Jim Mooney and John Giunta – including Dali’s face on the clock.
