The First Triple-i Initiative: 35 Indie Titles Highlighted

by Sage Ashford

Announced just a few weeks ago, the first Triple-i Initiative aired recently, featuring thirty-five indie titles, including new world premieres and exclusive gameplay.  Some of the high lights included:

Slay the Spire II is a follow-up to the mega-popular deckbuilding game, and enters Early Access in 2025. Developers Mega Crit promise the game has been rebuilt from the ground up in a brand new game engine, and offers some new ways to play that haven’t been confirmed yet.

Metamorphosis Games and Fireshine Games have confirmed their 2D side-scrolling RPG, Gestalt: Steam & Cinder comes to Steam on May 21st.

poncle’s massive hit Vampire Survivors is coming to PlayStation consoles this summer, and the game is getting a new expansion with Operation Guns, a crossover with Konami’s Contra franchise.

The long-awaited Hyper Light Breaker from Arc Games and Heart Machine finally made another appearance, this time confirming the game entering Early Access in the summer. For those who haven’t been keeping up, Hyper Light Breaker takes the franchise into a 3D environment that’s constantly shifting around them. Players will be able to build their own settlements, and work either solo or with friends to fight enemies.

One of the biggest games of the year, Pocketpair‘s Palworld is getting a multiplayer focused arena mode later in the year.

The biggest surprise though is Prince of Persia getting a new game courtesy of Evil Empire and Ubisoft, known as The Rogue Prince of Persia, which enters Early Access on May 14th. As expected in the name, the game turns Prince of Persia into a 2d side-scrolling roguelite

Over two dozen more games were featured in the showcase, ensuring there’s something for everyone.  While AAA gaming might be exhausting, the indie industry still has plenty of creative titles hitting the market.
