Martin Scorsese’s ‘Taxi Driver’ Returns To 4K UHD In A Limited Edition Steelbook

Here is a man who would not take it anymore… Here is Martin Scorsese‘s Taxi Driver on 4K UHD. The brutal 1976 classic returns to the format this summer in a new, limited edition steelbook from Sony Home Entertainment.
Robert De Niro stars as Travis Bickle, a disturbed NYC cabbie who’s self-described status as “God’s Lonely Man” and disastrous attempts at social integration drive him to desperate acts of vigilante violence. The film stirred up endless controversy upon its release, and its still-shocking violence, lavish directorial style, and iconic scenes (including one where De Niro postures in front of a mirror with guns and repeatedly asks, “You talkin’ to me?”) have inspired films from Observe and Report to Joker, and even the later Scorsese-De Niro joint The King of Comedy.
Nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture, Taxi Driver also stars Jodie Foster, Albert Brooks, Harvey Keitel, Peter Boyle, and Cybill Shepherd. Scorsese himself also appears in one of the most unsettling director cameos of all time.
Taxi Driver has been restored from the original negative and is presented in 4K with Dolby Vision. The package also includes a Blu-ray copy.
Special Features include a 40-Minute Q&A with Scorsese, De Niro, Foster and more from 2016, plus a commentary with Scorsese and writer Paul Schrader (originally recorded for the Criterion Collection laserdisc), a second commentary featuring Schrader and Professor Robert Kolker, storyboard to film comparisons, several behind-the-scenes featurettes, a Scorsese tribute, trailers, and more.
Taxi Driver arrives in a limited edition 4K Ultra HD steelbook on June 25. Meanwhile, Scorsese’s The Departed arrives on 4K next week.
