Mr. ZIP Returns This July With ‘Mr. ZIP’s Super Steam Activity Book’

Dynamite’s partnership with the United States Postal Service continues as Mr. ZIP stands ready to teach kids about S.T.E.A.M.
In July, the company — alongside the USPS and Curiosity Ink Media — will release Mr. ZIP’S Super Steam Activity Book, an 80-page way for children to explore science, technology, engineering, and math “alongside the hardworking hero of the Postal Service.” Writer Carrie Rodell and artist Laura Catrinella present the S.T.E.A.M. subjects via mazes to solve, differences to spot, and other “cool activities.” The book will also integrate art into S.T.E.A.M. as it introduces the topic to children aged 3-to-5.
The character, originally introduced in 1963, helped letter-writers become accustomed to the ZIP code system the USPS introduced the same year. He remained a mascot for sometime, although he was eventually retired, becoming a trivia topic and the occasional element in a Simpsons joke. Dynamite and the USPS teamed up last year to celebrate his 60th anniversary with Mr. ZIP’s Windy Day. The character will continue to be featured in children’s books from Dynamite and Curiosity Ink Media with the forthcoming Mr. ZIP’s Day in the Countryside and Where’s MR. ZIP? scheduled for release this Fall.
Mr. ZIP’S Super Steam Activity Book will be in shops this July.
