‘Iron Fist’ 50th Anniversary Special #1 Celebrates Fifty Years Of Fist!
by Austin Gorton
It’s been fifty years since Marvel Comics first capitalized on the kung-fu craze then sweeping the nation with the introduction of Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist. To celebrate, this August they’ll be releasing a special one-shot, Iron Fist 50th Anniversary Special #1, featuring a cavalcade of Iron Fist creators spotlighting the past, present and future of the character!

Says editor Danny Khazem, “Ever since I saw Danny Rand in those green and yellows, I was a fan—not just because we shared a name, but because that look was so iconic! So to be able to work on this issue with all of these talented creators is a huge honor and pleasure.”
Iron Fist 50th Anniversary Special #1 will contain five stories. Amongst the creators involved will be Chris Claremont, in a tale of Danny’s past featuring Wolverine, Iron Fist scribe Alyssa Wong with a new adventure of the current Iron Fist, Lin Lie, stories featuring long-time Iron Fist allies and associates the Daughters of the Dragon and Heroes for Hire, and a spotlight on Danny’s future drawn by Whilce Portacio.
All under a cover by legendary artist Alan Davis, with variant covers by Kevin Eastman and Howard Chaykin!

Added Khazem, “Danny’s story has spanned five decades, but the legacy of the Iron Fist spans MILLIONS of years! And this issue dares to be the next step in not only the future of Danny Rand, but the future of the entire Iron Fist lore! Strap in as this is just the beginning!”
