‘The Elusive Samurai’ Debuts First Full Trailer

Shogun, Blue Eye Samurai, Assassins Creed: Shadows, if fans of stories set in feudal Japan have been eating well. Now a new anime series adds its own flavor to the samurai genre– The Elusive Samurai created by Yusei Matsui, the manga artist behind Assassination Classroom.
The series follows the tale of Hojo Tokiyuki, a boy on the run after his family is overthrown by Ashikaga Takauji. With his only allies being a shady priest and his followers, the young lord must seek revenge and regain his glory, with his only weapon: a superhuman ability to flee and hide.
I thoroughly enjoyed Matsui’s Assassination Classroom, because of the winning blend of action, comedy, tragedy, and an adorable protagonist. It appears that The Elusive Samurai has all the elements I enjoyed from Matsui’s previous series plus a historical setting and lush animation.
