‘The Green Hornet’ & ‘Miss Fury’ Cross Paths This November

It’s a pulpy crossover for the ages.

Dynamite announced Thursday the imminent arrival of The Green Hornet/Miss Fury. The series brings the two pulp legends together for the first time courtesy of writers Alex Segura and Henry Barajas, and artist Federico Sorressa.

Set in the 1960s, sparks fly the moment Marla Drake and Britt Reid meet. As Miss Fury and the Green Hornet, respectively, they find their approaches to crime fighting are not exactly complimentary and headed for a collision. But when they learn they were each trained by the mysterious Silver Shrike — and that he is dead — they must team up to unravel the mystery. Is their mentor’s murder only the beginning of a larger conspiracy threatening “masks” all over the globe? Can the two use their varying approaches to crack the case? And will Kato have a prominent role in the proceedings? Meanwhile, the readers at home will have a chance to solve the mystery surrounding Silver Shrike.

“I have a soft spot for two things – writing pulp heroes I grew up reading as a kid, and working with my friends,” Segura said in a statement. “So when Dynamite approached me to take this series on, I instantly knew who I wanted to pair with. Henry and I have been brainstorming Green Hornet ideas for a while now, and this felt like the perfect springboard to not only spotlight the iconic hero, but put him up against one of the true classic heroines of comics, Miss Fury. Fleshing out her backstory and watching these two icons play off each other has been a treat — these characters almost write themselves. Add in the detailed, cinematic art Federico brings to every page and the end result is sure to be a fun ride for longtime fans of Green Hornet and Miss Fury — or folks looking for a fun, Bronze Age-style romp.”

“Green Hornet and Miss Fury are two of the most iconic pulp capes ever. I grew up pouring through the early Harvey Comics stories, listening to the radio shows, and watching the 1966 TV show starring Bruce Lee as Kato,” Barajas added. “This is undoubtedly a love letter to the Golden Age of comics while stinging the fans leaving them asking for more.”

Supporting the series will be covers from the likes of Francesco Francavilla, Jae Lee, Jonathan Case, and Jacob Edgar.
