‘What If…?’ Standout Kahhori Makes Marvel Comics Debut For Native American Heritage Month

by Tony Thornley

Marvel Comics’ Marvel’s Voices initiative continues to be one of the most exciting publishing initiatives in the industry. This November for Native American Heritage Month, the next entry will hit shelves with a major new addition to the Marvel Universe.

Marvel Studios’ What If…? has been a shot in the arm for the mixed bag that has been the studio’s Multiverse Saga. In Season 1, Captain Carter was easily the breakout hit character, with Star-Lord T’Challa close behind, both reimaginings of longtime Marvel characters. In the second season though, the breakout character was the Mohawk heroine Kahhori, a completely new character to the Marvel pantheon.

Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1 sees the cosmically empowered heroine not just coming to Marvel’s Earth-616, but also to the present day Marvel Universe. When Kahhori pursues a deadly adversary out of Sky World, she finds herself in Modern day Hell’s Kitchen. But culture shock will be the least of her worries when her new adversary cuts a path of carnage through the Kitchen!

The one shot will feature stories from Kahhori co-creator Ryan Little as well as Indigenous creators such as Arihhonni “Honni” David, Kelly Lynne D’Angelo, David Cutler, Jim Terry, and more!
