The Dead Tell Many Tales In ‘Minor Arcana’ #2 First Look
by Scott Redmond
Trauma, family drama, small town nature, and hints of supernatural were just the beginning when readers opened Minor Arcana #1. Now, BOOM! Studios has presented a first look at the second issue in the ongoing creator-owned series from Jeff Lemire and Steve Wands.

Following her mother’s falling ill, Theresa St. Pierre has returned home to the small town of Limberlost and has found herself pulled into her mother’s psychic/tarot card reading business at the behest of a desperate client. Because of this, she ends up entering the terrifying memories of the dead.
Liminal and lacking luminance beyond her darkest nightmares, the trance she’s trapped in is unfortunately exactly where she needs to be. However, Theresa’s anger and unhealed past, combined with the revelation of magic being very real, will do more than muddy the waters, not to mention a dark figure trailing her from just beyond the light’s edge…
The creator-owned ongoing series marks Lemire’s first work at BOOM! Studios. There will be four major story arcs for the series which will be collected in four deluxe sized collections. Just like the suits of a tarot deck, the collections will be The Book of Wands, The Book of Swords, The Book of Cups, and The Book of Pentacles.
Arriving on October 9, Minor Arcana #2 features a regular cover by Lemire and variant covers from Reiko Murakami, Matias Bergara, and Mike Del Mundo. Each issue also features a tarot card variant from Lemire, with a full tarot deck worth of covers by the end of the series.
