Dynamite’s ‘Cruella De Vil’ Is Getting Collected

by Erik Amaya

Dynamite has found a way to capture Cruella De Vil.

The company announced Tuesday the Disney Villains miniseries will be collected in a 6×9 inch digest format with softcover and hardcover options. Clocking in at roughly 130 pages, it collects the tale by writer Sweeney Boo, artist Miriana Puglia, colorist Dearbhla Kelly and letterer Jeff Eckleberry. While evading culpability in the dalmatian caper, Cruella’s reputation in the fashion world is nonetheless in tatters. And in her mind, there is only one way to fix her status: an epic jewel heist.

“I’ve always had a softer spot for villainous characters, not because of their intentions but mostly because I’d always be so curious about what brought them to be who they are,” Boo said at the time the miniseries was originally announced. “I feel like they offer so many layers of personality, and someone who is not perfect is much easier to relate to. What makes Cruella, Cruella? What makes her snap? What makes her laugh? It’s a really fun thing to try to discover!”

The collected edition will also include every variant covers (from the likes of Joshua Middleton, Gretel Lusky, and more) while Boo contributes the cover for the volume.

Disney Villains: Cruella De Vil collected edition is slated for release this November.
