Hasbro Pulse 2024: MDLX ‘Transformers One’ Figures Rolls Out!

Once a year I tend to find myself thinking “I should watch all the Transformers movies.”

It never fails that I start with the first one, and by the hundredth time I have heard “Witwicky,” I give up and go watch the cartoons. Then those end up dominating my daily watching experience for a few months. I absolutely love the majority of Transformers cartoon content that is out there, with Beast Wars, and Prime, and the Netflix content in recent years has been nothing short of spectacular.

So I have very high hopes for the upcoming Transformer One movie. It helps that the director is Josh Cooley, the writer behind the original story of Toy Story 4 and the Inside Out Screenplay, so I’m stoked for this story of the early relationship of one Optimus Prime and the future leader of the Decepticons, Lord Megatron.

I’m also stoked about all the cool toys we are going to get!

Hasbro Pulse 2024 showcased some epic new figures from Transformers One, including MDLX ELITA-1, in epic hot pink metallic with one heck of a blaster. She has six interchangeable hands and approximately 46 points of articulation, making her superposable. You can pre-order her at this link.

There is also the golden good-boy Bumblebee with 46 points of articulation and a wry smile.

What I love about this version of Bee is that he has additional armor and a cool face mask that really elevates the figure, giving it a battling bot feel with arm cannons and laser blades. You can pre-order him at this link.

You can’t really have a movie about robots in disguise without a prime protagonist. Enter Orion Pax, a young dockworker who looks up to the bots who can fly without transforming. I don’t know how this movie plays out, but if it’s anything like the legacy lore, he will get broken badly, repaired, and renamed.

What will his new name be you ask? Well, we shall call him Optimus Prime. He will have one heck of an energy axe and the matrix of leadership, along with rad face armor. You can pre-order prime at this link.

Of course, you can’t have a fallen hero rise without the villain that makes our hero fall and there are not many cooler villains in the world of Transformers than Lord Megatron.

Megatron has blasters, armor, helms, and hands, he is the whole package and then some. I really dig the Gen1 Transformers vibes this sculpt gives off while being something new and elevated. It really feels like it’s paying homage and staying “true” but also allowing the new team to explore the space and find their own audience and voice.

I think this movie is going to be stellar, I think these figures are going to have a ton of play and they seem to be super durable so you can actually play with them, the price point is a bit high for sandbox toys I think, but all things considered, it’s cool to see these characters getting this kind of treatment and I for one am excited to see what else is coming out for this film.
