Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’ Will Bring Chaos Home For Halloween On 4K UHD, Blu-ray, And Digital

What do you get when two Oscar winners, a comedy superstar, a smash video game series, and a director known for grisly splatter horror are all mashed together by some sort of corporate decree? Borderlands, one of the year’s biggest box office flops, is headed to various home media platforms in time for Halloween.
It stars Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Florian Munteanu, Jack Black, and Jamie Lee Curtis as group of misfit mercenaries on the chaotic planet of Pandora, but not the one from Avatar. Together, they put aside their differences and go on a mission to save Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), battle alien armies, and eventually help save the universe.
It’s director Eli Roth‘s second film of the last year (after Thanksgiving), although Borderlands struggled at the box office and was massacred by critics. But, like some of Roth’s gruesome horror films (Hostel, Cabin Fever), it could grow a cult audience at home.
Special features include seven featurettes, taking a look at the film’s production, its impressive cast, the game franchise’s legacy, costuming, and more.
Borderlands arrives on electronic sell-through on October 8th, on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD on October 22nd, and will be available on Demand October 29th.
