Mad Cave Studios Unveils Their Latest Series In Mark London’s ‘Underworld’ — ‘Exit City’
by Brendan M. Allen
Mad Cave Studios has revealed a first look at Exit City… the city of the future.
This third and thrilling title of Mark London’s Underworld interwoven universe features interiors and main cover by the late artist Karl Mostert, Cover B by Shane Connery Volk, and letters by David Sharpe. The new series invites readers to explore the culmination of a passion for storytelling and the darker side of humanity.

There’s a thin line between good and evil, as Detectives McCormick and Miller are about to find out the hard way. When they come to the scene of a brutal accident, it becomes clear that the Major Crimes division was called in for a reason. With minimal evidence, McCormick and Miller must work together through a web of seedy criminals, genetic experiments, and a crooked government. But that’s not the only thing standing in their way, McCormick is hiding a secret that would make anyone question his capabilities.

“Writing Exit City was such a wild ride because it allowed me to explore the intricate complexities of human nature and morality,” said London. “Delving into the lives of Detectives McCormick and Miller, I was able to create characters that are deeply flawed yet relatable, each grappling with their own secrets and inner demons.
“The setting of a gritty, crime-ridden city provided a rich backdrop for tension and conflict, enabling me to weave together a narrative filled with unexpected twists and turns. It was thrilling to craft a plot that kept readers on the edge of their seats while also challenging them to ponder the gray areas between good and evil. Themes of betrayal and loyalty are also on display and they resonated with me on a personal level, allowing for a deeper exploration of trust and the choices we make under pressure.
“Writing about McCormick’s hidden secret added an extra layer of complexity, making the story not just a crime thriller, but also a psychological journey. Ultimately, Exit City was a labor of love. I truly hope readers find as much enjoyment in unraveling the mysteries within its pages as I did in writing them.”
“Working on Exit City has been a thrilling experience, blending the sharp storytelling of Mark London with the vibrant colors of David Baron,” added Mostert, prior to his passing. “The collaboration with the team at Mad Cave Studios has been both energizing and rewarding, pushing the boundaries of creativity and storytelling. It’s an honor to be part of such a dynamic project that challenges and excites with every page.”
Mark London’s Underworld also includes Revolution 9 (out now) and Hour of the Wolf, out October 23rd. Each miniseries set within the shared universe can be savored as a standalone serial, while simultaneously serving as a stepping stone towards Endless Night coming in 2025.
Exit City #1 hits spinner racks November 6th, and is currently available for preorder.
