‘Stir Of Echoes’ Is Bringing Home The Kevin Bacon In 4K For The Film’s 25th Anniversary

There was something spooky in the air at movie theaters in 1999. Perhaps because of the impending new millennium, moviegoers flocked to see films like The Sixth Sense, Sleepy Hollow, The Blair Witch Project, and many more otherwordly thrillers.
Among them was the lesser-seen but acclaimed Stir of Echoes, which is making its 4K debut this fall to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary.
Everyone’s favorite regular guy, Kevin Bacon, plays a regular guy with the fake-sounding name of Tom Witzky. After being hypnotized at a party, Tom finds himself having visions from beyond, and becomes convinced the dead are contacting him in order to solve a decades-old murder that happened right in his neighborhood. Soon, his supernatural abilities become an obsession, blurring the line between fantasy and reality.
The film also stars Kathryn Erbe, Illeana Douglas, and Kevin Dunn. Based on the 1958 novel by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend), it was written and directed by David Koepp in between writing the opening chapters to some of Hollywood’s biggest ongoing franchises, including Jurassic Park (1993), Mission: Impossible (1996), and Spider-Man (2002).
Bonus features include an audio commentary with Koepp, featurettes both new and old, screen tests, deleted scenes, trailers, and more.
Stir of Echoes arrives in a 4K UHD Steelbook from Lionsgate on December 10th, and will be available exclusively from Amazon for the suggested retail price of $34.99.
