David Fincher’s ‘Panic Room’ Will Finally Arrive On 4K And Blu-ray Steelbook In February

The glossy, high-octane films of director David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en, The Social Network) seem tailor-made for the 4K disc market, and now one of his lesser-known films is joining the group. Panic Room, Fincher’s riveting 2002 experiment in creating big tension in a small space, is finally making its debut on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray as a limited edition steelbook in 2025.
The film stars Jodie Foster as a single mother who moves into a new NYC home with her tween daughter (a pre-Twilight Kristen Stewart). The house comes equipped with a state-of-the-art panic room, which comes in handy when a group of burglars (Forest Whitaker, Jared Leto, and Dwight Yoakam) break in. A twisty game of cat-and-mouse ensues, with Fincher expertly finding suspense in every single inch of the premises. It’s a small but mighty cast, loaded with three Oscar winners, one Oscar nominee … and Yoakam, who at least has a few Grammys.
Panic Room is presented in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision in Dolby Atmos + 5.1, supervised by Fincher. Special Features on the Blu-ray include audio commentaries featuring Fincher, Foster, Whitaker, Yoakam, and writer David Koepp , and hours of behind-the-scene documentaries, featurettes, interactive sequence breakdowns, pre-visualizations, a multi-angle look at composer Howard Shore‘s scoring session, and more.
Panic Room arrives on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on February 18th.
