Preview: Dark Horse Comics And CD Projekt Red Announce New ‘Witcher’ Series: ‘The Bear And The Butterfly’
by Anton Kromoff
Welcome to the table,
On the heels of CD Projekt Red unveiling a first look at The Witcher 4 during the 2024 Game Awards in Los Angeles, Dark Horse Comics has announced that they are teaming up once more with the game company to bring a brand new Witcher comic to the table.

The new series, The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly, is written by Simon Spurrier, who knocked it out of the park with Coda, and art from Stephen Green, who worked on Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957, and everyone knows how much I love Hellboy.

The story is set to run four issues and will follow Geralt as he finds himself in a remote town plagued by what is rumored to be a vampire. The bounty on the creature has grown so large that numerous monster hunters — including a rival Witcher from the School of the Bear — have arrived to deal with the supposed menace.

The first issue of The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly is slated to hit local shops on April 23rd, 2025.
Between the announcement of a new game, the newest season of the Netflix show, the statues from Dark Horse Direct, and this new comic, fans will have a lot to be happy about going into 2025.
Until next time, I still need to go back and read those Andrzej Sapkowski stories again.
