Magic: The Gathering meets Avatar The Last Airbender this November and I could not be more thrilled! I’m so excited to see how this goes.
Going off nothing but a love for Magic and raw speculation I would assume that Red mana, typically themed with fireballs and mountains makes sense as the logical Fire Nation analog, Blue would seem to fit perfectly into the Water Tribes, Green then logically would be Earth Kingdom, leaving White for the Air Benders. That would also open up Black mana to possibly be the Spirit Realm.
I have no clue other than the video above and a tentative release date … but I do know that I want borderless Sky Bison art cards and anything that has the White Lotus on it. I absolutely love the Avatar world and mythos — and MTG is so near-and-dear to my heart, so this collaboration having a full standard-legal set is double delightful!
Until next time, the amount of MTG games that will start with someone saying “Everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked” is going to give me unending fun.
