505 Games And Mercury Steam Announce New Action Game ‘Blades Of Fire’

The developers at Mercury Steam have been quiet for a while, but during IGN FanFest they revealed their latest project, the action-adventure game Blades of Fire.  The new opening trailer provides a glimpse of Blades of Fire’s stunning world, alongside the main hero and the allies and enemies they’ll meet along the way. Judging from the press release, the game’s big focus is on forging new weapons, offering dozens of different combinations to suit a player’s individual play style. Though the game just got announced, there’s already a description of what the main story is about, too:

“Step forward Aran de Lira, the last hero who can wield steel, and Adso, a young scholar whose knowledge of lost myths and sacred tongues may shape their fate. Learn how to craft near limitless weapon variations in the game’s unique ‘weapons forging’ system and bring the Queen to her knees. Combine countless alloys, hilts, runes, blades and pummelling edges to craft and perfect the ultimate evil-slaying weapon. Every enemy type will pose unique challenges – every weapon you create will meet those challenges!”

Blades of Fire is confirmed to be releasing on May 22nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and is coming to PC as seemingly an Epic Games Store exclusive. Priced at $59.99, players will also get a 10% discount if they pre-order the title.
