I had the opportunity to sit down with screenwriter Ken Nolan, known for his work on Black Hawk Down, to talk all things The Amateur, his latest spy thriller with Disney that hits theaters on April 11, 2025.
Ken adapted and co-wrote the film based on Robert Littell’s novel. It stars Rami Malek and Rachel Brosnahan in a heart warming, and at the same time gritty, high-stakes story about a government analyst turned reluctant field operative out for vengeance.
Ken shared with me what it was like bringing this film to life while navigating studio buyouts and global pandemics. This was such a fun interview because it offers a real, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to actually get a movie made in Hollywood. It’s a rad conversation with one of the most quietly influential voices in the business and the conversation had on and off camera was an absolute delight!
